The station's major refurbishment plan has just been finished, and the layout is much better now. They've also updated the seating areas, and created a Passenger Lounge with a coffee shop in which is great place to wait if there's train delays. Better toilets, more ticket machines, and the shops also had a refit, so now it's a great place to get a coffee before catching your train.
Tip: If you are waiting for a train on before the gates, and feel hungry try the open late supermarket/corner shop just outside, its much cheaper than in the station. They are currently renovating the station so the access should be a little different and modern while keeping the great roof over the trains later in 2013.
