Norfolk Square Dental Practice, Brighton Dentist

40 Norfolk Square, Brighton BN1 2PE, UK – 01273 733000

Norfolk Square Dental Practice is the best dentist I have ever visited. Michelle and her team look after me in a way that has enabled me to finally conquer years of dental phobia. I always feel very welcome there and would not hesitate to recommend any nervous patients to visit - it could change your life!

Michelle is an excellent dentist, very professional, thoroughly recommend her. A happy, calm and satisfactory experience. Top dentistry skills and a well run practice.

Brunswick Road Dental Practice

2 Brunswick Rd, Hove BN3 1DG, UK – 01273 731586

I have had several dentists over the years but this is the best. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the treatment I have received has been excellent. Have had some teeth rebuilt or capped and never had any repercussions. Also a dentist that doesnt try to have an ongoing conversation with you whilst your having treatment except for checking that you are ok.

Amalgam Fillings and Migraines In September 2017, Doctor Said Jacobi at Brusnwick Road Dental surgery, drew me a plan to remove 6 remaining amalgam (metal) fillings I still had in my mouth (to replace them with white fillings), on a once a month basis, the reason being I have been plagued all my adult life by extremely debilitating and excruciatingly painful migraines, to the tune of 2 to 3 a week. There are more and more evidence of the corroboration of migraines and amalgam filings (available online from credible sources), and at this point, I would have done anything to stop these migraines. The last of these appointments took place on Jan 18 2018 and from December 2017 having had my 5th one removed, I noticed a drop in the frequency of my migraines, the reason I know is I have kept a migraine diary since Sept 2016 as they are so excruciatingly painful I wanted to have a clear picture of how often they happen. In fact my last entry for a migraine is Jan 04 2018, and only 2 recorded in December 2017, a real difference from my usual 2 to 3 a week. But perhaps crucially, as off today when I write this, that's over 3 weeks without any migraines and trust me as I can only speak from my personal experience, this has changed my life already, the fear and panic these migraines cause me on top of the pain, not to have to live this is just amazing. Dc Said Jacobi is an extremely gentle and knowledgeable dentist, so professional, he makes a formidable team with his lovely assistant, I am so grateful as anyone who suffers from migraines will know, this has changed my life already. And also from an aesthetic point of view, my mouth looks better. This is quite possibly the best money I have spent. Thank you again, highly, as in very highly recommended.

Beaconsfield Medical Practice

175 Preston Rd, Brighton BN1 6AG, UK – 01273 552212

Very nice practice, shame it plays loud radio piping advertisements and beats to distract you from trying to think about the problem before consultations. Nice staff.

They always have the heating cranked up here.

Dr Chris Jenkins - Pavilion Surgery

Have visited a couple times, no issues

The Montefiore Hospital

2 Montefiore Rd, Hove BN3 1RD, UK – 01273 828120

I had a total ankle replacement Nov 2015. From first meeting to discuss my options through the operation and on to yearly follow ups I found every member of the hospital friendly and yet very professional, they treated me with care and respect, and the food was excellent! My ankle replacement has been a fantastic success and i have now rejoined the gym, lost over 40lbs in weight, walk my dogs and have even been able to do some horse riding again! Its not an exaggeration to say it has transformed mine and my families life! I cannot thank Mr Redfern and his team enough and would not hesitate in recommending him and the hospital!

I was really impressed with this hospital and the staff, my procedure did not correct the problem however this was not guaranteed anyway. Nurses were lovely and the place is immaculate. Everything was explained in detail from beginning to end and I would go back for further treatment

Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital

Eastern Rd, Brighton BN2 5BE, UK – 01273 696955

Excellent service! Staff are very friendly and caring. I can't fault anything about the hospital or the staff.

I couldn't find an email that looked like it went direct to the staff of the A&E as I felt I wanted to write how saddened I was to received a text message asking me to rate the staff and service after my trip to the A&E on Sunday last. I understand practices need to be monitored and reviewed but honestly, when we know how hard p the NHS is and how hard staff have to work for no pay increase, I felt this text message was thoroughly disrespectful of them. My son hurt himself and within in 2 hours of my time spent at the A&E, I had seen a triage Nurse, he had been given pain relief, we had 4 x-rays and I had a professional tell me that he was going to be fine. The nurse that saw us was great and I did thank him for his help. So please, these texts are unnecessary and not to mention an expense surely the NHS doesn't need. We are very lucky to have a free service no matter if you are rich, poor, British or not. Thank you Royal Alex A&E! My one thing isn't a criticism of the staff but I think a tidy up and layout review of the transition playroom might be a good idea. Broken toys and books that can't be easily reached aren't really conducive to playtime.

Royal Sussex County Hospital

Barry Building, Eastern Rd, Brighton BN2 5BE, UK – 01273 696955

The care at this hospital was exceptional... taking into consideration its free and under staffed... I made great friends on the ward plus loved alot of the ladies who took care of me. 5 star is an understatement considering the stated facts.

Came for a physio session and they were fantastic. A very professional service from start to finish.

Find Recycling Centres

Magpie Recycling

109 Lewes Rd, Brighton BN2 4AE, UK – 01273 677577

Always something different to find here. It's not a 'shop' - it's a coop, which means they are a community, not a business. The staff are genuinely here to help, by being very knowledgeable on sourcing local resources and, on the avenues of waste and recycling services available - tho you have to dig a bit sometimes because different members know different things and, the items or services you require may not always be evident or even present! It's a place that keeps you coming back. They have helped me get back on my feet - I had a lot of old to send away and new to bring in. Their services, knowledge and community attitude really helped turn my life around and gave me a perspective of what a community attitude of 'pulling together' is. Don't expect a high street retail shopping experience with psynchopathic staff; anticipate a uniquely 'Brightonian' experience of humble yet practical people - (very) busy doing practical things to make a real difference in the world of which EVERYONE is but a tiny part. Thank you, Magpie. You're the best!

They have provided good quality items to our rental properties for some time - always really helpful and never been sold any rubbish !

Greenacre Recycling Ltd

New Rd, Brighton, Newhaven BN9 0HE, UK – 01273 600909

Great service, well priced, would use again.

Brighton recycling centre

185 Wilson Ave, Brighton BN2 5PD, UK – 0845 355 0550

You can recycle everything!! I mean everything!!! The staff were helpful in telling you where things had to be recycled. They don't help you put stuff in the bins but why should they?? You don't pay to recycle your waste.

YOU CAN'T TAKE VANS! I had to park my camper outside and they provided a trolley...

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Brighton

The Restaurant At Drakes

LGF 43-44 Marine Parade, Brighton BN2 1PE, UK – 01273 696934

The food is delicious and service is very good. I really enjoyed the wine as well, it was matched perfectly to the food. I would definitely recommend the tasting menu. Price definitely matches the quality. Overall, a very good experience!!

It was very good food. And good wine. The beef was particularly good.

Côte Brasserie - Brighton

115-116 Church St, Brighton BN1 1UD, UK – 01273 687541

Very friendly and professional service. A bit posh, but nice for a romantic dinner with a glass of wine. It would be good to see more vegetarian or vegan options. I had a delicious mushroom risotto with chocolate pot for dessert which was just fine and really tiny.

Another fab meal at outstanding value. Great food, great staff. How do they do it!?!!!!! This is the ONLY chain restaurant we eat at and Brighton is, without doubt, one of their VERY best. Thanks, thanks, thanks - you're all stars!!!!!!!

Pizza Express

22 Prince Albert St, Brighton BN1 1HF, UK – 01273 323205

There were 13 of us (9 children) and the service was great. The kids had colouring to do so that kept them busy and the food came out swiftly. Would definitely go back, especially with a large group. The only downside is we were near the back door, so every time it opened the cold air came in

Does what it says on the tin. Consistently good food at reasonable prices. There are plenty of independent places to eat of you're just visiting Brighton but as far as pizza express goes this is a good one. Sometimes have to wave for service as it gets so busy but the staff are always friendly.

Robins Nursery School Ltd

Eaton Road, Hove BN3 3PB, UK – 01273 725600

My son (who is profoundly deaf and has severe learning difficulties) attended here for 2.5 years- From the beginning it was so welcoming and the staff were superb. I always felt that they went over and above to support him in his learning and worked closely with all the professionals. He loved it and he a pretty demanding customer! Couldn't rate this place any higher. xx

Robins is a wonderful nursery. The staff are excellent and they really worked hard to make sure that my son had the best time when he was there. The communication and updates from the staff about my son's progress was also excellent. It was sad when it came around to the time to move on but I was happy and confident that he was as prepared for school as he could have been.

Fantastic education and care from a dedicated team of professional and very friendly guides

The Montessori Place is, by far, the best Montessori school in Brighton and Hove. Our child is engaged and massively enthusiastic about all that he does there. If you are looking for true, authentic Montessori education then this is the place you need to look at. They have the best Montessori people in the UK working there and not only allow my child to thrive but also provide events for the parents to learn as well. Above all, they have built a Montessori community that is driven by the school and are constantly pushing the boundaries of Montessori in the UK. If you are looking for a Montessori School in Brighton and Hove you seriously need to check this one out. You won't regret it.
